ANAHEIM, Calif. (CNN) - More than two dozen high school students were rushed to the hospital over the weekend when the stage they were performing on collapsed.
More than 200 girls were on the southern California stage when the front section buckled and sent some of the girls down into the orchestra pit several feet below.
"It was already at the end of the show. They were getting ready to judge the contestants and everything just came to a screeching halt," Lupe Martinez said about the stage collapse that injured his daughter.
Some of the injured students were treated on scene. Other students were taken to the hospital with broken bones. None of the injuries were considered life threatening.
School and fire officials continue to investigate what caused the stage to collapse.
