The story behind Skipwith Elementary’s morning lock down

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Skipwith Elementary School was placed on lock down for about an hour Thursday morning as a precaution, confirmed Henrico Schools spokesman Andy Jenks.

The lock down was ordered after a man who claimed to be the relative of a student arrived to pick up the child, Jenks said. The adult was not on the approved pick-up list and some school workers perceived the man’s comments about the situation to be threatening.

The child was eventually dismissed to the relative “without incident,” Jenks said.

Skipwith is located along the 2400 block of Skipwith Rd., near Broad St. and Parham Rd., in Henrico’s West End.

This is really something that didn’t need to happen. The truth is not in this school faculty. At no time did any person threaten anyone physical harm. This is their way of justifying their actions with a concerned grand-parent or parent. They love to threaten with jail if you disagree with them or their methods of teaching. Henrico schools have done this in the past. They have lost court cases in the pas as well. I know because they did this to me, and i made a fool of them in court. If you have any questions or you have had a similar experience please contact me at dbkulp@aol.com
    thank you
