RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond Police have released the name of the teen shot and killed in south Richmond.

“Robert Lee Fox, 16, of the 7100 block of Catlin Road in Hanover, was shot early Tuesday morning. Officers found Fox lying in an alley behind the 3600 block of McRand Ave.,” Richmond Police spokesman Gene Lepley wrote in an email. “He was transported to VCU Medical Center where he died that afternoon.”

Police have not yet released information about a motive or shooting suspect. Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney Mike Herring said his office is deciding whether to send this case to a grand jury.

Neighbors, who noticed extra officers on their street since the shooting, said they are anxious to find out what happened.

“Neighbors are kind of on edge. We’ve seen some police presence, but not enough. How do we know that this won’t happen again,” neighbor Jamie Melms asked.
