RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Nearly a dozen open school administration jobs have been added to the Richmond Public Schools website in the last week.
Newly listed jobs include director of security and director of pupil transportation.
The new listings come two months after Dr. Dana Bedden was named new superintendent of Richmond schools. The timing of the open job posts is no coincidence, according to one Richmond School Board member.
"Some of these job postings are the result of his [Dr. Bedden] initial work of looking at where there are holes in the system, where there's room for improvement," Richmond School Board member Glen Sturtevant said. "We're going out and trying to find the best and brightest to come and work in Richmond to help us."
CBS 6 reporter Joe St. George plans to ask Dr. Bedden about the job openings during an interview scheduled for Tuesday.
