The law that keeps hunters out of the tree stands on Sunday could soon be extinct.
The Virginia Senate approved a bill Monday that would get rid of the Sunday hunting ban that has been in place since 1930.
The new law would allow people to hunt on private property on Sundays, with a landowner’s permission.
Russell County Senator Will Puckett introduced the legislation into the General Assembly.
A similar bill cleared the House of Delegates last month and Governor Terry McAuliffe said when either bill makes it to him he will sign it into law.
We will keep you abreast the bill’s progress.
