“Interstates and primary roads are mostly in minor to moderate condition.  Secondary roads and subdivision streets have more snow and ice cover, as crews focus their efforts to keep the most heavily traveled routes treated and plowed first.  VDOT’s goal is to have all state-maintained roads passable within 48 hours after a winter storm ends,” VDOT’s Tamara Rollison wrote in an email.
