RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Newly sworn in Gov. Terry McAuliffe showed off some fancy footwork at Saturday night's inaugural ball in Richmond.
McAuliffe let loose during The Tams' rendition of "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher."
Virginia State Police said more than 3,000 people attended the $75-a-ticket inaugural ball at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Siegel Center.
The new governor, clad in a tuxedo, had more moves in him than he did voice--which was hoarse by the time he took stage around 10:30 p.m.
He delivered brief remarks in his trademark gushing, cheerful manner, even calling the rain "beautiful," and noting that it "was great for the plants.”
