RICHMOND, VA. (WTVR): The Latin Ballet of Virginia celebrates its 14th Anniversary of performing The Legend of the Poinsettia. The story is based on the Mexican legend about a young girl who discovers the true spirit of giving. Because little Maria is poor and can’t offer a material gift, she picks a handful of weeds that magically turns into crimson flowers and so the legend was born of giving Poinsettias during the holidays.
