HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- The manager of a Henrico County restaurant was arrested Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage coworker.

Henrico police said 42-year-old Carlos Alberto Ojeda-Aquino sexually assaulted a 17-year-old male worker in his charge.

Those who knew the suspect told CBS 6 that he worked at Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Willow Lawn Dr.

Detectives said the victim was assaulted several times between August and December inside the restaurant in the 1600 block of Willow Lawn Dr.

The owner of the store told CBS 6's Chelsea Rarrick that they are fully cooperating with police in the investigation.

Two men who worked near the store said Ojeda-Aquino was personable, and are shocked by the arrest.

"Just the type of person to see how you're doing, talk a little bit about his day," said one man who did not want to be identified.

CBS 6 went to Ojeda-Aquino's home Tuesday afternoon, however no one was there. A neighbor said the 42-year-old was married, and had plans to move to Chicago later this month.

Ojeda-Aquino, of the 4800 block of Monument Avenue, was charged with with indecent liberties with a minor while in a custodial role and sexual object penetration.

The Henrico County Sheriff's Office said he is in jail with an immigration hold on him, which means he's subject to deportation. A bench trial is set for March 17.

It’s a little late for that thinking, isn’t it? Or are you suggesting that the owners of the restaurant prefer to hire child molesters to run the joint, and therefore you should avoid it? Where are you coming from? Do you even know?

Clown Show Watcher – It may have nothing to do with the restaurant owners, but often these sexual deviants do associate with one another, so it would not be unusual to find another employee that is either like-minded, or knew what was going on. According to the article, this was not a one-time event. Why expose yourself or your child to an elevated risk?

That makes sense but perhaps the reason he is going to Chicago is because there are no other sexual deviants of his particular persuasion at Tropical Smoothie.

Without knowing more about it – such as when during the shift it happened, who else was in the store, where in the store it happened we can’t say for sure that some had to have known about it. If these 2 were the only ones closing the store for example then there would be no one around to be aware of what was going on.

When you dine at a place called “Smoothie”, one has to expect that something like this might happen.

So what are you saying – that at every Tropical Smoothie there is a man who wants to sodomize young men because of the name “smoothie”? A bit odd line of thought you have there.

I was hired alongside Carlos when the store first opened. He was friendly and worked hard when I was there. (I quit last February and have since moved out West) I’m very shocked to hear this because he just didn’t seem the type, but I suppose some never do.
The one thing that I always thought was odd was the shoulder rubs he gave male employees, but always seemed awkwardly harmless. Other than that he was fun to work with and just chat with.

I worked with the dude at another job in the area…total creep.Always gave male coworkers shoulder rubs and asked inappropriate personal questions. He was weird, but I never thought it would go that far…
