RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Virginia Country Music Hall of Famer and Varina resident Donna Meade wants to share a special musical message this holiday season: “Help Somebody.” She was inspired to write the song after hearing the story of Thomas Cannon.
The retired Richmond Postal worker lived a modest life, and in later years cared for his ailing wife, but over the course of 33 years, donated over $150,000 of his own money to people in need. He passed away in 2005.
Taking a page out of Thomas Cannon’s book, Donna is offering you her song, simply asking those who download it to do a good deed and ‘help somebody.’
“I loved that about Mr. Cannon,” Donna said, “he asked for nothing but for others to do simply that.” Help Somebody.
