Group plans to search for missing Va. teen this weekend

NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Volunteers will be searching this weekend for a Virginia teen who vanished nearly four months ago.

The women’s group, Shopo Nation, is organizing a public search for Alexis Murphy this Sunday, Dec. 1 from noon until dusk.

Volunteers will comb the Route 29 corridor looking for the missing 17-year-old. The search will begin at the Liberty gas station where Alexis was last seen on Aug. 3.

Randy Taylor was charged with Murphy’s abduction. His trial is set for Feb. 3.
