CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police identified the person killed in a Monday morning crash as Auriel N. Shazer, 18, of Summers Trace Terrace.
Police said Shazer's 2000 Ford Focus ran off Jessup Rd., down an embankment and hit a tree.
Jessup Rd. was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash. Her father, Henry Shazer, said the news knocked the wind out of him.
"You never want to hear that she passed away. That you know Daddy can't save the day."
He's desperate to know what caused the accident. The road reopened, but the investigation into the crash remained ongoing.
