RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell honored members of the U.S. armed forces Monday at the Virginia War Memorial. It was part of Virginia’s Veterans Day program.
Governor McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, placed a wreath at the memorial.
During his speech Gov. McDonnell addressed the sacrifices the state’s military men and women make to serve our country.
He also mentioned the importance of remembering the sacrifices of older generations, but also remembering young Americans who volunteered to fight on the front lines of modern day battlefields.
