Amber Alert canceled: 4-year-old NC girl found in Chesapeake

KILL DEVIL HILLS, NC (WTVR) - An amber alert for Neviah Dobson, a four-year-old from Dare County, North Carolina, was canceled early Sunday morning.

Kill Devil Hills police said Neviah was found safe in Chesapeake with her alleged abductor, 22-year-old Shelby Nichole Dobson.

Police said Dobson, who is the girl's mother, was taken into custody.

Officials said the child is now in the custody of Chesapeake Department of Social Services.  Dare County Department of Social Services is making arrangements to pick up Neviah.

The amber alert was issued around 7 p.m. Saturday for Neviah, who was last seen with her mother leaving 301 Wallace Street Kill Devil Hills.
