RICHMOND Va. (WTVR) -- Richmond police are investigating after reported assaults and a call about shots fired outside Chippenham Hospital Saturday night.

Officers said prior to the gunfire, several fights broke out at East Broad Street following the 2nd Street Festival.

CBS 6 News is told someone from those altercations went to Chippenham Hospital for a minor injury. Police believe friends and relatives of the victim -- and several others involved in the assault -- then showed up outside the hospital.

That's where officials said someone punched out the window of a car and then shots were fired from a car in the parking deck.

Suspect details are few, but police are looking for three women who were in a Ford Taurus.

There has been no word if this incident is related to the Johns Woods neighborhood homicide investigation.
