HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- A Henrico police officer is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a car late Saturday night.
The officer was on duty responding to a loud party call near the 9100 block of Derbyshire Road around 11 p.m.
The officer, a 12 year veteran of the force, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
At last check, he was in stable condition and officials said he is expected to fully recover.
Police said the driver did stop at the accident and that they do not believe alcohol or speed was a factor in the crash.
No charges have been filed.
Henrico police are investigating the incident.
