Police: Overnight Richmond shooting victim keeps changing story

RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) –  CBS 6 has received a report of a shooting on Richmond’s southside.

The victim is currently being treated at Chippenham hospital for his injuries.  Police received a call around 2 a.m. Saturday to the 2000 block of Ruffin Road.

The victim says he was approached by two black males while waiting to meet up with someone he met earlier at a bar. He says he charged at the men to keep them away, they ran off and possibly fired two rounds.

The victim does have gunshot wounds to the cheek and shoulder,  his injuries are non-life threatening. Police are still investigating and say the victim has changed his story several times.
