CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WTVR) -- Two men police said tried to rob some University of Virginia students may have gotten more than they bargained for.

Charlottesville police said Gerald Allen and Johnny Calderon are facing charges for trying to rob some UVa. students this week.

The men's mug shots show the pair covered with bruises and one man's eye is even swollen shut. Officers said the students fought back against the robbers.
