DANVILLE, Va. (WTVR) - The pilot of a small plane that crashed at the Danville Regional Airport was killed Thursday evening.
An officer with the Danville Police Department confirms that a single-engine plane crashed at the airport around 7:45 p.m.
The Danville Register and Bee reports that one person was killed. Officials said the plane was attempting to land when it crashed.
A reporter and photographer from the newspaper reported that they could see a small plane on the runway with flashing lights surrounding it. They have not, however been able to get closer because of safety concerns.
