Storms cause big traffic backups on I-64, I-95

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — VDOT reports a downed tree has caused a 17-mile backup on I-64 west near mm 203 in Henrico County around 4 p.m. Friday.

Officials said that earlier congestion has not cleared, but grown heavier. However, as of 5:30 p.m., the backup was down to four miles.

Additionally, there is a 12-mile delay on I-95 north near mm 98 in Doswell. There is also a six-mile backup on I-95 south near mm 98 (Doswell) due to congestion.

Officials said drivers should expect major delays.
