HOT SPRINGS, Va. (WTVR) - Republican gubernatorial candidate and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe had their first governor's debate on Saturday.

They discussed hot button topics, including the investigation surrounding Governor Bob McDonnell with Star Scientific and whether if he should resign.

Cuccinelli declined to make the call, but McAuliffe said the governor should consider it, according to USA Today.

They also talked about McDonnell's transportation bill and abortion laws.

The election will take place in November.
