PORTLAND, Ore. (WTVR) – An Oregon couple got quite a surprise when their 14-month-old toddler bought them a car.

“She decided, I think, to open the eEay app, and started clicking around and one thing led to another and we own a car,” father Paul Stoute said.

Stoute said he could not believe it when he received an email from eBay congratulating him on the $225 purchase.

Though they admit they can't really afford the car, the couple said they decided to keep the 1962 Austin Healey Sprite.

Stoute said he'd like to restore the car and maybe give it back to his daughter when she turns 16.

"I've done a lot of body work in the past like Bondo and stuff like that but this is, another realm all together," he said. "I'm just glad she didn't buy the $38,000 Porsche I was also looking at."

Stoute said he has since activated facial recognition technology and has a new pin code on his smartphone to prevent another toddler shopping spree.
