RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A fight at a birthday party in downtown Richmond ended in a late-night shooting, Richmond Police said. A man was shot “several times” and taken to the hospital with “life-threatening injuries,” according to police.
Investigators said two men at a party inside a hotel near 6th Street between Cary Street and Canal Street got into a fight. The fight broke up and the shooting happened outside the hotel around 11: 30 p.m., police said. Detectives do not believe the men were guest at the hotel.
One man, taken into custody on unrelated charges, is said to be a “person of interest” in the case, police said.
