UPS driver falls asleep behind the wheel, overturning tractor-trailer

HENRICO, Va (WTVR) - In Henrico county, police have finally cleared the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer accident on Route 895 westbound near the Laburnum exit.

Police tell CBS 6 the accident happened around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday after the driver of the tractor trailer ran off the right side of the roadway.

The driver over corrected causing the tractor-trailer to overturn and come to rest on the passenger side blocking the westbound travel lane.

Police on scene also said the UPS driver fell asleep behind the wheel.

The driver, 36-year-old Major F. Fleming Jr. is being charged with reckless driving.

No injuries are reported.

At one point all lanes westbound were closed, but have since re-opened.

It took crews about 30 minutes to upright the tractor-trailer.
