RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - A talented Afro-Cuban percussionist, Melena Frances Valdes, has performed, toured and recorded music with Julio Iglesias and Stevie Wonder just to name a few. Her new production, 'Melena: A Cultural and Musical Journey Into My Afro-Cuban Roots' is based on her life. Melena shares the details and a performance accompanied by talented dancer Marisol Sotolongo from the Latin Ballet of Virginia. You have the chance to see 'Melena: A Cultural & Musical Journey Into My Afro-Cuban Roots' Sunday, July 14th at 8pm at Dogwood Dell at Byrd Park. It's free and open to the public.
