FAA plans to change rules for electronics during flight

Posted

(WTVR) - If you fly a lot but hate having your cell phone or tablet, relief may be on its way.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Federal Aviation Administration plans to change the ban on using some electronic devices during takeoff and landing.

Some devices, like e-readers, could be used all throughout the flight, but the FAA does not plan to relax the policy on cell phone calls.

Right now, the FAA is testing to see if it's safe to allow people to use their electronics during takeoff.

They are still working out the details.  The deadline for the proposed plan is in September.
