CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A man was killed Sunday afternoon after the vehicle he was riding in ran off Woodpecker Road and hit a tree. Police said Christopher Cashion, 51, of Taylor Rd., died at the hospital.

Police charged the driver, 49-year-old Vada J. Cashion, of Amelia, with reckless driving. Vada Cashion is Christopher Cashion’s sister, police said.

Police continue to investigate why the vehicle ran off along the 9300 block of Woodpecker Rd. Investigators said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.

The driver and a second passenger suffered serious injuries, but were last listed in stable condition.
