BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) – A Texas mom turned the tables on an attacker who appeared inside her mini-van. Police said the mother and her five and two-year-old children were in their minivan outside a CVS when a man with a knife popped up in the back of the van.

“Guy pulled a knife on her, had a knife on my son,” Charles Flugence, the victim’s husband, said. “She got the knife. She’s got a cut that goes across her chest. She grabbed the knife, and he bit her hand.”

During the struggle police said the mom intentionally ran her van off the road to disorient the attacker. Once disoriented, she punched the man in the face. When he jumped out of the van, police said she ran him over.

The man air-lifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
The mother and children were expected to be okay.
