RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - ‘Juneteenth’ is a freedom celebration that dates back to June 19, 1865. When 250,000 blacks that were still in bondage after the emancipation proclamation finally got word that they were and had been free. The Elgeba Folkfore Society presents its annual Juneteenth celebration this weekend. Janine Bell, founder of the Elgeba Folkfore Society, shares more and event caterer Ausar prepares a tasty Moroccan Stew. Juneteenth 2013: A Freedom Celebration starts Friday, June 14th from 6pm to 10pm at The Pine Camp Arts Center, 4901 Old Brook Road. The celebration continues Saturday, June 15th from 4pm to 11pm with the 'Reflective Celebration' at The Historic Manchester Dock, 1308 Brander Street on the south bank of the James River
