CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR) –Chesterfield police officers chasing after a wanted man ran across a busy street and stopped traffic on Tuesday.

Police said they were told the suspect, who was wanted for violating his probation and trying to elude police, was in the area of route 288.

And because the suspect did not have a known address, more officers were called in to take him into custody.

The suspect was eventually arrested and taken to jail.

Police said it does not appear he was on probation for any major or violent crimes.
