Virginia honors its fallen servicemen

RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - Hundreds of military families and their supporters gathered at the Virginia War Memorial to honor the men and women who were killed serving their country since last Memorial Day.

Governor Bob McDonnell delivered the keynote address. The names of the fallen were added to the wall of the War Memorial.

"To all the families, the brothers, the sisters, the moms, the dads, the aunts, uncles, the daughters the sons, we say, as heartfelt as we can from the 8.2 million people in Virginia we thank you," said Governor McDonnell.

CBS 6 reporter Jake Burns and photojournalist Lamar Person caught up with several veterans and families of fallen servicemen at the ceremony. To hear their stories, watch the full report above.
