Mother arrested for leaving three children in car

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- The mother who was arrested for leaving her three children in a car while she shopped at a baby supply store has been identified by Chesterfield Police as Joy Gresham, 27.

It happened around 6 p.m. Friday evening in a shopping center parking lot of Rittenhouse Drive.

According to Chesterfield police all the children were under the age of 8 years old and were examined by Chesterfield Fire Department EMS personnel before being released to a family member.

Their mother has been charged with three counts of felony child neglect and is scheduled to appear in Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Court on May 20, 2013 at 12:00 p.m.

The temperature outside at the time was about 80 degrees.
