RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Police searched Richmond's near West End Thursday morning for a man after a woman claimed she had been stabbed.
Police were called to a home on Libbie Ave. near Patterson Ave. about 1:15 a.m. to investigate the stabbing. The woman told police she arrived at her parents' house to pick up her dogs. She said there was a man near the home when she got there. She claimed the two got into a fight and she was stabbed during the altercation.
Police searched the area for the man and found no one who matched the description the woman provided.
Police said they are now questioning the validity of the woman's claim. Police said they believed there was no threat to the community.
Police said the woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to VCU Medical Center.
