REPORT: U.S. gun violence down drastically

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Gun violence is down over the past two decades according to the Justice Department.

The report indicated gun-related homicides dropped almost 40 percent between 1993 and 2011. Non-fatal gun crimes dropped 69 percent during that same period.

The report said homicides at schools declined to an average of 20-per-year since the year 2000.
