RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - A new report says that Governor Bob McDonnell is under investigation by the FBI for undisclosed donations received from a political donor.

McDonnell's term as Governor ends in November, and many political analysts say that he could be a future presidential hopeful.

CBS 6 political analyst Dr. Bob Holsworth came to the CBS 6 studio to talk about the affect this federal investigation will have on his future. Holsworth says that news of the investigation doesn't create a very good situation for Republicans, and that Democrats are trying to use news of the investigation to gain a perceived lead in the gubernatorial campaign.

Holsworth also says that McDonnell should be presumed innocent pending the outcome of the investigation.
