77-year-old charged with shooting boyfriend at campground

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. (WTVR) - A 77-year old woman is in jail and her boyfriend is hospitalized in critical condition after police said she shot him in the head while camping.

Police said they found a 62-year old Richmond man shot inside a trailer at the Wilderness Presidential Resort park in Spotsylvania on Sunday. He was taken to Mary Washington hospital in Fredericksburg where he underwent surgery and is currently in a coma.

Authorities said Lillian Levy of Maryland shot him at a place they often meet for weekend getaways.

She is charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

She is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
