CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- The search for two Virginia State University students who disappeared in the Appomattox River will resume Monday

Virginia State University  released the names of the two freshmen late Sunday.  A university official said Jauwan Holmes and Marvell Edmondson were reported missing Saturday.

This all started around 1:30 a.m. when five people fell into the water while trying to cross the river, just south of the university. Three people were pulled from the water, but the two  students are still missing.

Officials said counseling sessions will be available for students at VSU starting on Monday at 9 a.m. in room 200 at Foster Hall.

vsutweetJust before 9:15 p.m. VSU tweeted that the university was on lockdown and that all students should return to their dorms. A CBS 6 crew was turned away from the campus late Sunday by police.

The lockdown was lift Monday morning around 6 a.m.

The university still has not explained publicly when the campus was put on lockdown.
