Today Senator Tim Kaine unveiled his first national bill as U.S. Congressman, the Troop Talent Act of 2013.

The legislation aims to assist military veterans and their transition to life outside of the armed forces. Kaine said he hopes that it makes it easier for troops to connect with civilian jobs when they leave the military.

Kaine said that during his travels across Virginia, he has heard from countless veterans "who face challenges when they try to use skills they’ve acquired during their military service to find jobs in the private sector."

Sen. Kaine stopped by CBS 6 to talk about the bill, as well as share his thoughts on budgets, furloughs and sequestration.  Just click on the video above.
