HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – All lanes northbound on I-95 were temporarily closed Sunday morning for 20 minutes to allow for the on-going investigation of a fatal car accident.
The lanes were closed at Lewistown Road (mile marker 89) but were reopened shortly after.
Virginia State Police tell us at 4:13 a.m. they responded to a single vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred after the driver of a 2000 Ford Explorer ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
The adult male passenger died at the scene. Identity of the deceased is pending next of kin notification.
