Padow’s Hams & Deli opened its first location in the WIllow Lawn shopping center back in 1988, and the shops multiplied by adopting a franchise blueprint back in the 1990s.

The closure was announced via a Facebook post.

Now only the Gaskins and Broad Street location will remain as a store-owned shop. The other six locations around Richmond are franchises, a model adopted in the mid-1990s.

Richmond Biz Sense has a story that details the bankruptcy and a dispute with Federal Realty said to date back years. Read that here.
