UPDATE: Russell Brown's preliminary hearing was rescheduled until June. Brown had to be assigned a second lawyer, required in a capital murder case. Brown did not appear in court today.
DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- The man accused of fatally shooting Master Trooper Junius Walker is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
Russell Brown is scheduled to face a judge at the Dinwiddie County courthouse for a preliminary hearing Monday morning.
Brown is charged with capital murder of a police officer.
Brown's family told CBS 6 News that he had not been acting like himself in the weeks leading up to the shooting.
The last time Brown was in court, he admitted to killing Walker and even told a judge he was fine with being executed.
Thousands of people attended a funeral service for Master Trooper Walker last week. Gov. Bob McDonnell was among the speakers who honored the fallen trooper.
