Virginia honors K-9 veterans
RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — Virginia will now honor its fallen heroes of the four legged variety.
The state has declared March 13 K-9 Veterans Day to honor dogs killed while serving in the military or working with local law enforcement.
A special ceremony was held at the Virginia War Memorial on Wednesday.
Delegate John Cox of Ashland submitted a resolution during the last General Assembly session recognizing the holiday.
