Petersburg man arrested for Shockoe Bottom nightclub shooting

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond police detectives have arrested a Petersburg man in connection with a shooting inside a Shockoe Bottom nightclub last month.

Police said 25-year-old David L. Batts Jr. was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a felony, in connection with a shooting inside the Canal Club around 1 a.m. on Feb. 18.

No one was injured during the incident.

Detectives still ask anyone with any information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
