If you want to avoid diabetes as you get older, doctors say getting up and moving may be key.

Researchers in Great Britain found that sedentary time, the time spent sitting or lying down, is associated with several diabetes risk factors.

Doctors say you don’t need to do a full exercise. They say if you stand and move around, and reduce your sitting time by a total of 90 minutes a day, it will lower your risk of diabetes considerably.
