CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- With a $4 million budget hole to fix, Chesterfield County schools are making cuts.

Parents got a chance to weigh in on the cuts Tuesday evening during a public meeting at the county government complex.

Most parents told school board members they are concerned about proposed cuts to Maggie Walker Governor's School in Richmond, which gets some funding from Chesterfield.

School leaders said there isn't enough money to implement a five year, $347-million Capital Improvement Plan.

That plan calls for multi-million dollar renovations at ten schools and the construction of a new elementary school to relieve overcrowding.
