HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police have released a description of the man wanted for shooting and killing a Henrico County store clerk Monday night.

Police said the clerk, whose name has not yet been released pending family notification, was working at the Expressway Convenience Store on Byron Street and Mechanicsville Turnpike when he was shot. The store is very close to the busy Laburnum Avenue intersection.

Authorities said a 911 distress call came in around 9:30 p.m. Monday evening.

A police source said the gunman demanded money and opened fire when the clerk would not hand it over. That source said the victim was shot multiple times.

The clerk was taken to VCU Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Police canvassed the area near the store on foot with dogs and in a plane Monday night.

A makeshift memorial was set up  outside the store Tuesday morning.

Police described the suspect a black male between 18-20 years old, weighing around 140 and wearing a brown jacket.
