Family displaced after fire in East End
HENRICO, Va. (WTVR) – A family of four is homeless after a fire Sunday morning in Henrico’s Highland Springs area.
Fire Captain Jim Mellon tells us fire crews received a call shortly after 2 a.m. for a fire on Southfern Avenue. We are told the fire took about 20 minutes to mark under control.
Due to low overnight temperatures additional assistance was needed.
We are told the family was able to get out safe and rescue crews were able to save the family’s dog from inside the burning residence.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
