AUSTRALIA (WTVR) -- A Brisbane family had an unexpected hitchhiker when a young fur seal hopped onto their boat.

The seal was even friendly enough to let the children of the family pet him. That's when the Murray family caught it all on video.

Apparently the same seal has been hopping and hitchhiking on other boats and ferries.

After the seal hopped and rode on the boat for about an hour and half, the dad pushed the seal off with a flipper.

Afterwards the children of the Murray family affectionately named the seal, "Salty."
