RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – If you were on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook on Monday morning around 7:30, your feed may have filled up with pictures of a double rainbow over Richmond.
If you missed it, here are some photos.
Meteorologist Carrie Rose says you can only see a rainbow when the sun is at your back and rain droplets are in front of you. “The timing was perfect for a sunrise rainbow in central VA,” says Rose. “The sun was rising around 7:20-7:30 a.m. in central Virginia, just as the rain was approaching us from the west.”
