HAMPTON, Va. (WTVR) – Police charged a Hampton man with possession of counterfeit bills and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon after his daughter tried to use fake $20 bills at her school’s holiday shop last month, according to a report on WTKR.com

According to search warrants, the girl took the counterfeit money from her father’s drawer after he refused to give her cash.

The school principal called police after a clerk at the shop marked the bill as counterfeit.

Police searched the man’s Hampton home and seized a computer, a scanner/copier and several counterfeit bills, as well as a gun and a bulletproof vest.
